Last night, a 6-year old child was struck by a car in Waukegan, Illinois.
Details on the accident appear somewhat limited.
According to Waukegan Police, the accident happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Prescott.
The as-yet unidentified child was taken to Condell Medical Center with a broken pelvis.

Police said the driver, 48-year-old Jonell Gilmore of Waukegan, appeared intoxicated and a cup containing alcohol was found in her vehicle. She was charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation of open alcohol in a motor vehicle, police said. The charges are all misdemeanors.
