A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle Tuesday around noon at the intersection of Route 176 and Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff, Illinois.
The bicyclist, an unidentified 66 year-old male from Lincolnshire, is in critical but stable condition.
According to Lake Bluff Police, the bicyclist was heading west on the bike path along Route 176, and crossing Waukegan Road on a green light, when he was struck by a Toyota 4X4 driven by an 18-year-old male driver from Lake Forest.
During the course of the accident, the bicyclist became stuck underneath the front end of the vehicle; according to witnesses, bystanders lifted the vehicle off of the bicyclist.
The accident remains under investigation.
