A 19-year-old man was fatally hit by a car on Tuesday night in Mount Prospect, Illinois.
Details on the accident are somewhat limited at this time; additionally, the accident is still being investigated.
The man, Mathew Svedman, 19, of Mount Prospect, was apparently walking into traffic at the time of the accident.
The accident happened slightly before 8:30 p.m. Svedman was found by emergency personnel in the southbound lanes of Rand Road, south of Prospect Manor Avenue.
Svedman was taken to Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, but was pronounced dead there at 9:16, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A 56-year-old woman was driving the vehicle that struck Svedman; she was not injured during the collision.
