I-94 School Bus Accident In Deerfield, Illinois

This morning, December 19, there was an accident on Interstate 94 in Deerfield, Illinois, that involved a school bus and two trucks.

Twenty of the children on the bus were injured and were taken to various hospitals, but none of the injuries were life-threatening, according to the Illinois State Police.  Two adults were also injured, the bus driver and one of the truck drivers.

The twenty students injured were from the Palombi Middle School in Lake Villa, and were in the seventh grade.

The accident happened at approximately 9:36 a.m., as a box truck rear-ended a second truck; the second truck struck the rear of the school bus.  The accident happened on southbound I-94 just south of Deerfield Road.
