Illinois State Trooper “Cut Off” And Crashes Car On Tri-State Tollway Near Deerfield, Illinois

According to various news sources, an Illinois State Police trooper was injured Sunday afternoon, September 18, during a car accident on the Tri-State Tollway near Deerfield, Illinois.

The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m., and was said to be one of many that occurred on that day, in which sporadic storms were named as a factor.

The trooper told investigators that his car was “cut off” by another vehicle, said to be red in color, which caused the trooper to lose control, hit the guard rail on the right side of the expressway and then cross all lanes of traffic before smashing into a retaining wall on the left side of the expressway.

According to police, the trooper was taken to Highland Park Hospital with minor injuries.

This accident is somewhat reminiscent of another incident in which a car was “cut-off,” thereby causing an accident.  That accident, and the legal case resolution, was detailed in the July 10 post titled “Elman Law Group LLC Client Awarded $56,233 Jury Verdict In Chicago Kennedy Expressway Accident.”
