The Motorcycle Left The Roadway During Antioch Township Crash

There was a motorcycle crash Monday (June 4, 2018) in which the motorcycle left the roadway in Antioch Township.   As previously mentioned on this site, there have been many Illinois motorcycle accidents in 2018 which have involved a loss of motorcycle control.  As discussed on the “Motorcycle Loss Of Control Accidents” page, a loss of control can happen for many different reasons.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, in the June 5, 2018 media release titled “Critical Antioch Township Motorcycle Crash,” deputies responded to the motorcycle accident scene, which was in the 43000 block of North Trevor Road, at approximately 7:37 p.m.

An excerpt from the release:

Preliminary investigation shows a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 51-year-old Zion man, was southbound on North Trevor Road. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle left the roadway and went into a wooded area. The driver was not wearing a helmet and he was ejected from the motorcycle. The man was transported to St. Catherine’s Medical Center in Pleasant Prairies, Wisconsin, with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
