According to information provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, in a November 23 media release titled “Critical Ingleside Traffic Crash,” Lake County Sheriff Deputies responded to the accident at 10:23 a.m. The accident scene was in the vicinity of Route 134 and West Venetian Drive. The preliminary accident investigation findings indicate that a 2016 Dodge Dart had been traveling eastbound on Route 134 at the time of the crash. The crash occurred when the Dodge Dart first left the roadway, traveling onto the south shoulder, before the driver “overcorrected,” thereby crossing into the westbound lane and then driving off the roadway to the north. After leaving the roadway the car rolled over.
The driver, currently only identified as a 33-year-old man from Round Lake, had to be extricated from the car. He was then taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of critical injuries.
The traffic accident investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
