There was a single-car accident early Thursday morning on Rollins Road west of Route 45. Two people were injured in the accident.
A Mercedes SUV traveling eastbound on Rollins Road struck a guard rail on the north side of the roadway, and then overturned and caught on fire.
Lake County Sheriffs responded to the accident at approximately 3:15 a.m.
The driver, Justin Schulze, 23, of Wildwood, and the passenger, John Bruhn, 29, were able to escape from the vehicle and were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Whereas Schulze only suffered minor injuries, Bruhn’s injuries included broken ribs and an amputated foot.
