Last night at around 9:15 p.m., a Hit & Run accident occurred in Lake Zurich, IL that has left one teenage girl dead and two injured.
The incident happened on Church Street north of Jamie Lane, according to Lake Zurich police Cmdr. Kevin Finlon.
Three female teens, two of whom are 18 and another who is 16, were walking on the gravel shoulder when they were hit by a SUV, which was headed south on Church.
The SUV fled the scene. According to police, the SUV was described as a newer model white or light-colored SUV that may have a damaged light on the front passenger side.
According to Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey, Gabriella Drozdz, 18, Lake Zurich, was the girl that was killed. She died at about 10 p.m. after being taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The two other girls were taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
