There was a pedestrian accident in Gurnee, Illinois on Thursday night. Two women, ages 46 and 43, were struck by a car as they crossed O’Plaine Road in a crosswalk.
The accident happened at approximately 8:35 p.m. The women were crossing the road in a group after they had been attending a parent orientation at the Warren Township High School O’Plaine Campus.
The car was driven by Ana Vaca-Alvarez, 24, of Waukegan. She was issued tickets for driving on a suspended driver’s license; failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk; and driving too fast for conditions.
Both victims were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
