There was a collision between a vehicle and garbage truck at Lake Cook and Waukegan this morning. As a result of this collision, a utility poll was damaged and the intersection is closed.

A passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on Waukegan Road when it collided with a garbage truck heading west on Lake Cook Road causing the truck to knock down a utility pole, according to Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Ray Larson. One person was transported to the hospital.
