The ice storms, sleet and snow that has fallen on the Chicagoland area today created a hazardous environment for motorists.
One vehicle accident happened this afternoon on the Tri-State Tollway near Half Day Road. Details on the accident are limited. However, according to the Highland Park-Highwood Patch story of today, titled “Update: Crash Sends Three to Hospital, Injuries Not Life Threatening,” a Chevy Avalanche that was driving southbound on Tri-State crashed into a wall, according to the Illinois State Police (ISP).
The three people in the vehicle were taken to Lake Forest Hospital. Their injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening in nature.
