There was a fatal motorcycle accident in Waukegan early Saturday (August 19, 2017) morning. The crash is being attributed to a motorcycle loss of control.
According to Waukegan Police, the accident was reported at 1:30 a.m. The accident scene was in the vicinity of Berwick Avenue and Grand Avenue.
An excerpt from the Lake County News-Sun article of August 21, 2017, titled “Man killed early Saturday in Waukegan motorcycle crash“:
According to the release, investigators believe that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Berwick approaching Grand when the driver lost control, and the motorcycle crashed into multiple parked cars on Berwick Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Police said excessive speed is believed to have played a factor in the crash.
The motorcyclist was identified as Jose Hernandez, 28, of Round Lake Heights.
The fatal crash investigation is continuing and is being conducted by the Waukegan Police Department’s Traffic Division.
