A woman was fatally struck by a train in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was called at approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning (November 22, 2013) with regard to a woman who was seen lying on train tracks. The woman was spotted by a train engineer of a Metra North Central line train.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the body was located south of Deerfield Parkway near the Buffalo Grove Metra train station at 825 Commerce Ct.
The woman was identified as a 49-year-old Buffalo Grove resident. She was declared dead at the accident scene.
The death is under investigation.
