There was an accident where a Metra train (Union Pacific – North Line) struck a woman shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15.
The train struck the female, age 43, as she was reportedly lying on the tracks to the south of the Route 176 viaduct.
The woman was taken to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville. According to Lake Bluff Deputy Police Chief David Belmonte, she is expected to survive.
