Alcohol-Impaired Driving Accidents In Lake County

Driving while alcohol-impaired continues to be a significant traffic safety issue both nationally as well as locally, as seen in Lake County as well as throughout the Chicago area.   Various Lake County accidents in which the driver was alcohol-impaired are summarized in posts found under the DUI category.  As seen in those posts, many such crashes result in serious injuries, and some of these injuries resulted in fatalities.

Also of note is the increasingly common problem of drivers who drive while drug-impaired, which is discussed on the “Car Accidents Involving Drivers Under The Influence Of Drugs” page.

There was a parking lot accident in Deerfield in which the driver was allegedly alcohol-impaired.  The accident is discussed in various media sources including the December 12, 2018 Deerfield Patch article titled “Deerfield Drunk Driver Causes 7-Car Crash In Parking Lot:  Police.”

An excerpt from the article:

A Deerfield man faces drunk driving and hit-and-run charges after crashing into six cars parked in the lot of his own apartment building and taking off running from the scene, according to police reports.

The allegedly alcohol-impaired driver refused medical treatment at the accident scene, and no one else was hurt.  However, several cars were heavily damaged.
