A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal Zion accident that happened on October 21, 2017. It was a “hit & run” in which a car struck two pedestrians, killing one of them. That original accident was discussed in the “Fatal Zion Hit & Run Accident” post of October 23, 2017.
An excerpt from that post:
According to information provided by the Zion Police Department, the accident happened shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Green Bay Road, south of 9th Street. The accident involved a silver or grey Chrysler Sebring that struck two men, killing one of them. The other man was treated for his accident injuries at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and then released.
An excerpt regarding the arrest, from the March 20, 2018 Lake County News-Sun article titled “Zion police charge Wisconsin man in fatal Green Bay Road hit-and-run from October 2017“:
Zion police announced in a statement Tuesday that Dennis C. Russell Jr., 34, of Kenosha, Wis., was taken into custody at his residence on 75th Street in Kenosha on an outstanding warrant for failure to report an accident involving death and failure to report an accident involving personal injury, both of which are felonies.
Additional details and possible updates concerning the arrest and original Zion accident can be seen in the sources mentioned above.
