Fatal Wadsworth Traffic Accident At Route 41 And Wadsworth Road

There was a fatal Wadsworth traffic accident Sunday (December 16, 2018) night along Route 41.  The accident lead to the death of a motorist.

This fatal Wadsworth traffic accident involved a car “rear-ending” a semi truck.  Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the accident scene at approximately 10:15 p.m.

The accident is discussed in the Lake County Sheriff’s Office media release of December 17, 2018 titled “Fatal Wadsworth Traffic Crash.”

An excerpt:

Preliminary investigation shows a 2012 Freightliner Tractor/Trailer, driven by a 46-year-old man of Alger, Ohio, was northbound on Route 41.  The driver of the Freightliner stopped at a red light at Wadsworth Road.  When the light turned green, the driver of the Freightliner started to accelerate and was struck in the rear by a northbound 2005 Chrysler 300 (positive driver identification pending).  According to a witness, the Chrysler was traveling at a high-rate of speed just prior to the crash.

The driver of the Chrysler died at the accident scene. He was later identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Roderick Richardson, 47, of Kenosha, WI.

This fatal Wadsworth traffic accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.

Fatal Ingleside Pedestrian Crash On Wilson Road South Of Rollins Road

There was a fatal Ingleside crash Saturday (December 15, 2018).  The accident happened in the area of Wilson Road, south of Rollins Road.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies went to the accident scene at approximately 5:30 p.m.

An excerpt regarding this fatal Ingleside pedestrian crash, from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office media release of December 15, 2018 titled “Pedestrian Fatal Ingleside Traffic Crash“:

Preliminary investigation shows a 2016 Jeep Patriot, driven by an 18-year-old female of Lake Villa Township was traveling southbound on Wilson Road, south of Rollins Road.  As she was traveling southbound, she struck a pedestrian that entered the roadway.  The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the Jeep was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.  

The pedestrian did not carry identification, and was initially only identified as a young adult female.  She was later identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Sydney Weber, 16, of Fox Lake.

This fatal Ingleside pedestrian crash remains under investigation.  The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit is conducting the traffic accident investigation.

Fatal Ingleside Car Crash Involving “Head-On” Collision

There was a fatal Ingleside car crash early Saturday (December 15, 2018) morning.  The car crash was a “head-on collision” that involved two cars. 

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, in a December 15, 2018 media release titled “Fatal Ingleside Traffic Crash,” Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the accident scene of this fatal Ingleside car crash at approximately 12:10 a.m.  The accident scene was in the vicinity of Route 134 and North Robin Road.

An excerpt from the media release:

Preliminary investigation shows a 2002 Acura TL, driven by a 23-year-old man of Ingleside, was traveling westbound on Route 134, just east of Robin Road.  A 2000 Buick Century, driven by a 72-year-old man of Round Lake, was traveling eastbound in the same area.  For an unknown reason, the Acura TL entered the eastbound lanes of traffic and struck the Buick Century head-on.

The driver of the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Preliminary information suggests he was not wearing a seatbelt.  The driver of the Buick sustained minor injuries.  The only passenger in the Buick, a 72-year-old woman of Round Lake, sustained critical injuries.  Both the driver and the passenger in the Buick were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center via ambulance.

The deceased driver of the Acura was subsequently identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Feliciano Hernandez-Saucedo, of Ingleside.  According to preliminary autopsy results, he died from injuries caused by blunt force trauma. 

This fatal Ingleside car crash remains under investigation.  The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.

Alcohol-Impaired Driving Accidents In Lake County

The allegedly alcohol-impaired driver refused medical treatment at the accident scene, and no one else was hurt.  However, several cars were heavily damaged.

Waukegan Township Pedestrian Accident Results In Fatality

There was a fatal Waukegan Township pedestrian accident Saturday (December 1, 2018) night.  The accident was a “hit & run” crash in which the driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian fled the accident scene.

According to information provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, in a December 2, 2018 media release titled “Fatal Waukegan Township Hit-And-Run Traffic Crash” Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the accident scene of this fatal Waukegan Township pedestrian accident at approximately 6:45 p.m.  The accident scene was in the area of West Crescent Avenue and Northern Avenue.

An excerpt from the media release:

Preliminary information shows a pedestrian, a 63-year-old man of Waukegan Township, was struck by a vehicle as he was walking on Crescent Avenue, just east of Northern Avenue.  The driver of the striking vehicle then fled the scene.  The man was located in the front yard of a residence in the 12400 block of West Crescent Avenue.  He was subsequently transported to Vista East Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased pedestrian was later identified as Robert Barron.  An autopsy revealed that he died from blunt force trauma injuries sustained during the accident.

This fatal Waukegan Township pedestrian accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
