Fatal Antioch Motorcycle Crash

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Sunday night (September 3, 2017) in Antioch.

Details on the accident appear limited.  The cause of the crash does not appear to be determined yet, although it may have involved a loss of control of the motorcycle.

An excerpt regarding the crash, from the September 4, 2017 Lake County News-Sun article titled “Antioch-area man killed in motorcycle crash Sunday night“:

The Antioch-area man, who has not yet been identified, was traveling south on Nelson Road when he apparently had problems turning onto North Avenue and struck trees near the roadside, according to Antioch police Sgt. Aaron Fendel.

First responders went to the accident scene at 8:53 p.m.

The motorcyclist, later identified as Russell Schultz, 57, of Antioch, was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident investigation and accident reconstruction is being conducted by Antioch Police as well as the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
