There was a fatal multi-vehicle accident Tuesday (November 25, 2014) on Route 120 in Volo.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on Route 120 near Fischer Road at approximately 9:30 a.m. At that time, a GMC3500 van, traveling eastbound, crossed the center line and struck a westbound Honda Accord. The van then struck an unoccupied pickup truck and landscape trailer that were parked near the road.
According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, the driver of the Accord was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver was identified as Gordon Searle, 46, of Lindenhurst. A passenger in the Accord was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The driver of the van was identified as Kenneth F. Szczesny, 28, of Kenosha. He faces charges including reckless homicide and aggravated DUI in regard to this fatal accident.
