Fatal Ingleside Car Crash Involving “Head-On” Collision

There was a fatal Ingleside car crash early Saturday (December 15, 2018) morning.  The car crash was a “head-on collision” that involved two cars.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, in a December 15, 2018 media release titled “Fatal Ingleside Traffic Crash,” Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the accident scene of this fatal Ingleside car crash at approximately 12:10 a.m.  The accident scene was in the vicinity of Route 134 and North Robin Road.

An excerpt from the media release:

Preliminary investigation shows a 2002 Acura TL, driven by a 23-year-old man of Ingleside, was traveling westbound on Route 134, just east of Robin Road.  A 2000 Buick Century, driven by a 72-year-old man of Round Lake, was traveling eastbound in the same area.  For an unknown reason, the Acura TL entered the eastbound lanes of traffic and struck the Buick Century head-on.

The driver of the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Preliminary information suggests he was not wearing a seatbelt.  The driver of the Buick sustained minor injuries.  The only passenger in the Buick, a 72-year-old woman of Round Lake, sustained critical injuries.  Both the driver and the passenger in the Buick were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center via ambulance.

The deceased driver of the Acura was subsequently identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Feliciano Hernandez-Saucedo, of Ingleside.  According to preliminary autopsy results, he died from injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

This fatal Ingleside car crash remains under investigation.  The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
