There was a fatal motorcycle accident Friday night (April 24, 2015) in Highland Park.
Details on the motorcycle accident, and especially its causes, appear limited at this time.
According to Highland Park Police, the accident happened at approximately 7:00 p.m., as a motorcyclist was riding westbound on Walker Avenue, just north of Fort Sheridan Avenue. At that time, the motorcycle collided with a passenger car heading northbound on Fort Sheridan Avenue.
The motorcyclist was taken to NorthShore Highland Park Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries, and he was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m. The man was identified as Nazar Petriv, 21, of Chicago.
The three people traveling in the car were not hurt during the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
