Fatal Zion Bicycle Accident Along Route 173 On September 7, 2018

There was a fatal Zion bicycle accident Friday (September 7, 2018) morning.   This fatal Zion bicycle accident occurred on Route 173, east of Green Bay Road.

Details on the accident are somewhat limited, especially the cause of the crash.

According to Zion Police, the accident occurred when a 59-year-old man was riding his bicycle along Route 173 at approximately 8:15 a.m.  At that time, a vehicle struck him.

The bicyclist was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead.
