Fremont Township Fatal Crash In Area Of Route 60 And Blackhawk Trail

A Fremont Township fatal crash occurred Friday (October 11, 2019). This Fremont Township fatal crash appears to involve a loss of vehicle control which led to the SUV leaving the roadway. The reason for the crash remains under investigation.

On October 11, 2019, at approximately 9:15AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash in the area of Route 60 and Blackhawk Trail, Fremont Township.  Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located a 2014 Dodge Journey approximately 100 feet off the roadway, north of Route 60.  The Dodge struck a tree before coming to a rest.

The reason for the SUV leaving the roadway is currently unknown.

At the time of the crash, the driver was not wearing a seat belt. 

Before the crash, the SUV was traveling westbound along Route 60.

The driver, identified as a 74-year-old man of Adairville, Kentucky, was declared dead at the accident scene.

This Fremont Township fatal crash is under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
