Impaired driving continues to present a threat to safe driving in Lake County as well as throughout Illinois. An accident occurred in Round Lake Park on Friday (January 10, 2020) night which police believe was caused by an impaired driver. This accident, which happened along Route 134, led to two drivers being injured and hospitalized.

The crash occurred in front of the Pizza Place on Route 134 between Macgillis Drive and Porter Drive. A Cadillac SRX and a Chrysler 300 sedan were involved in the head-on collision.
The Round Lake Park Police Department said that impaired driving was suspected in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
One of the drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle. The two drivers involved were injured and taken to the hospital. Their injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
