A Libertyville bicycle accident occurred early Sunday (October 4, 2020) morning. This Libertyville bicycle accident, which involved a man riding a bicycle getting struck by a car, resulted in fatal accident injuries to the bicyclist.
According to Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper, the bicyclist was identified as Timothy Bowes, 60, of Mundelein.

The Libertyville Police Department and Libertyville Fire Department responded around 3:25 a.m. Sunday to the area of Route 176 and Stritch Drive for a report of a vehicle crash.
Officers arrived and found a bicyclist in the roadway and a vehicle that had struck the bike east of the intersection, west of Butterfield Road.
The bicyclist, identified as Bowes, was alert and conscious at the scene and paramedics treated him. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Doctors later pronounced Bowes deceased around 6:30 a.m. Sunday and crash investigators were called to the scene.
This Libertyville bicycle accident is being investigated by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team, Libertyville Police Department and Lake County Coroner’s Office.
