An excerpt from that media release:
On October 13, 2019, at approximately 9:10AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Route 22 and Miranda Lane, Long Grove, for a traffic crash with injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found the driver of a 2007 Toyota Sienna, a 63-year-old male of Unincorporated Deerfield, unresponsive. Sheriff’s Deputies initiated life-saving efforts on the man until relieved by Long Grove Fire Protection District Paramedics.
Preliminary investigation shows the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Route 22 at a slow rate of speed. For an unknown reason the driver veered across the westbound lanes, into the ditch, and struck several trees.
The driver was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of his accident injuries. He was in critical condition.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of this Long Grove minivan crash.
The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
