A man in his 80s from unincorporated Lake Zurich was killed Monday evening when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on Route 12 near Volo Village Road and ended up in a three-vehicle collision, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Covelli, the initial crash occurred around 6 p.m. when a vehicle driven by the Lake Zurich man was heading southbound on Route 12 approaching Volo Village Road and crossed into the northbound lanes, striking a northbound vehicle driven by a man in his 20s from Lake in the Hills.
