First responders first went to the accident scene, which was at Route 173 and Green Bay Road, at approximately 3:40 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2018 Ford cargo van was traveling eastbound on Route 173 when it struck a 2013 Hyundai sedan that was stopped in traffic.
The Hyundai then struck a 2005 Range Rover, which was also stopped in traffic.
The impact with the Hyundai caused the Ford van to go into oncoming traffic and strike a 2009 Toyota traveling westbound on Route 173. The Ford van ended up in a ditch.
Among those injured and taken to the hospital were three juvenile occupants of the Toyota. One of these occupants had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
This Route 173 crash is under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
