A man was hit by a vehicle and knocked unconscious on Butterfield Road in Vernon Hills Monday, according to police.
According to a statement released by the Vernon Hills Police Department, just before 6:45 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Butterfield Road south of Route 60.
Police said a preliminary investigation determined that a 39-year-old pedestrian was stuck in the right lane of southbound Butterfield Road at the CN Railroad tracks. The driver immediately stopped and rendered aid, according to the release.
The man was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of his accident injuries. His accident injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
The accident investigation is being conducted by the Vernon Hills Police Department, with assistance from the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
