A Wauconda collision has led to fatal injuries for the driver and passenger of a car. This Wauconda collision involved a BMW sedan and a dump truck with trailer. The accident occurred on Friday (September 25, 2020) afternoon.

Two Barrington teens are dead following a collision in Wauconda involving a BMW car and a dump truck. The two-vehicle crash happened in the northbound lanes of Route 12 just south of Case Road at 1:35 p.m. on Sept. 25 when a red BMW 325i collided with a Mack dump truck in the 29000 block of Route 12, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities say the BMW ran into the back of the dump truck, which was carrying a bulldozer, shortly after the truck pulled out of a private driveway, according to the news release.
The driver of the car, identified as Aria Albertelli, 19, died after being taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in critical condition. The passenger in the car, a 16-year-old girl, also was taken to Advocate Condell Medical center in critical condition. She later died.
According to Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper, both died from blunt force trauma from the accident.
The driver of the dump truck, identified as a 69-year-old man, was not injured during the collision.
This Wauconda collision remains under investigation by the Wauconda Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT).
