The Wauconda Fire District and Wauconda Police Department responded around 2:56 a.m. September 18 to Route 12 near Route 59 for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Officers found a white Mitsubishi Eclipse and a green International delivery truck that had crashed into each other.
A preliminary investigation showed that the International delivery truck was traveling northbound on Route 12 and the Mitsubishi was traveling southbound on Route 12.

Various aspects of head-on collisions are further discussed on the “Accidents Involving Head-On Collisions” page. As seen on that page, various head-on crashes have occurred in Lake County. Due to the nature of such crashes, accident injuries are often serious if not life-threatening in nature. As they often involve one vehicle crossing the center line and colliding with an oncoming vehicle, such accidents can be unpredictable and thus hard to avoid.
