A January 13, 2021 Wauconda Township crash led to one driver being fatally injured. This Wauconda Township crash involved three vehicles and occurred at Route 60 and Wilson Road. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the accident at approximately 8:05 a.m.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2018 Chevrolet Trax was traveling southbound on Wilson Road approaching Route 60. According to witnesses, the driver of the Chevrolet, a 24-year-old male of Ingleside, did not stop at the stop sign and pulled into the path of a westbound Peterbilt Semi-Truck pulling a trailer, driven by a 50-year-old male of Berwyn. The Peterbilt struck the Chevrolet and then struck an eastbound Ram ProMaster Van, driven by a 59-year-old male of McHenry.
The driver of the Ram was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Ram, a 31-year-old male of Kenosha, WI, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Peterbilt was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ram van was later identified as Michael Linderman, 59, of McHenry. According to the Lake County Coroner he died from traumatic injuries suffered during a vehicle accident.
This Wauconda Township fatal traffic accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
