A Zion high-speed crash occurred Saturday (May 9, 2020) afternoon. This Zion high-speed crash involved three vehicles and happened on Hebron Avenue.

A 20-year-old man was charged after he allegedly was driving at a high rate of speed and went through a stop sign before crashing into another car, leaving three people injured in Zion.
Angel T. Jones, 20, of Zion, was charged with reckless driving, disobeying a stop sign, driving without a valid driver’s license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and unlawful use of registration.
The accident scene of this Zion high-speed crash occurred 21st Street and Hebron. The Zion Fire Rescue Department and Zion Police Department went to the accident scene at approximately 3:10 p.m.
According to Zion Police Chief Kirk Henderson, the collision occurred as Jones, driving a Nissan Versa, was traveling northbound along Hebron Avenue and went through the stop sign. The Nissan Versa then collided with a Chevrolet Trax that was westbound on 21st Street. Both cars had their airbags deploy.
The Nissan then came to a rest after hitting a parked Chevrolet Impala.
As a result of the crash, three people were injured and taken to area hospitals. Their injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
